If your lawn isn't fortified and strong enough to fight off weeds, diseases, and insects, then you could be looking at a lawn with brown patches or a dying lawn. To avoid those issues, we offer an organic "Bee Safe" program with fertilization and weed control treatments that provide nutrients to strengthen and fortify your lawn and soil without using excessive chemicals.
Our lawn care services are available for residential and commercial properties in Kennebec County, including Gardiner, Augusta, Waterville, and surrounding areas of central Maine.
Throughout the year, we administer 6-7 applications of fertilizer and weed control, spaced out every 4-6 weeks. Our fertilizer is natural and organic, full of beneficial materials from compost teas that nourish your soil. These treatments contain microorganisms that help balance your soil and increase your grass's ability to process and absorb nutrients. As your grass and soil are fortified with these products, in theory, they should then be able to fight off threats such as lawn insects, diseases, weeds, and more.
Weed control treatments are EPA registered low-risk products, and we apply preventative crabgrass controls, broadleaf weed control, and post-emergent crabgrass control as needed along with fertilizer treatments. Our team will also address any weeds that may show up in your landscape beds. Common weeds we can treat for include:
At Wingate Landscape, we firmly believe in reducing chemical usage as much as possible, which is why we offer the BeeSafe optimized organic program for central Maine area lawns. This creates a lawn that is safe for people, animals, and important pollinators such as honeybees and butterflies.
We also provide fertilization treatments for trees and shrubs with a liquid or granular fertilizer.
With BeeSafe applications, your lawn will have organic materials in it that can destroy and fight off any bad lawn fungus that may try to attack your grass. However, if you do see a brown patch pop up, it could be from lawn diseases or insect infestation. Commonly, we see lawn insects such as grubs and chinch bugs. These insects can rapidly eat their way through lawns and roots, so it's best to be proactive and quickly eliminate these before they take over the whole lawn.
Our lawn care professionals can take a look at your lawn, examine what's going on, and create a program that will nourish your grass throughout the growing season. Find our lawn care services at homes and businesses throughout the central Maine areas of Gardiner, Augusta, Waterville, and more.
